Single-girder cranes have standard lifting capacities of 1 ton, 2 tons, 3 tons, 5 tons, 10 tons, 16 tons, 20 tons, and 32 tons. Common spans range from 7 to 30 meters. The motors used in single-girder cranes can vary depending on the lifting capacity and span. Different types of single-girder cranes may also have different power requirements.
The total power of a single-girder crane includes the power of the main trolley motors, the power of the motor for the electric hoist's trolley, and the power of the hoisting motor.
For example, a 1-ton single-girder crane might have two main trolley motors, each with a power of 0.8 kW, totaling 1.6 kW. It might be equipped with a single-speed electric hoist with a trolley motor power of 0.2 kW and a hoisting motor power of 1.5 kW. Therefore, the total power of this crane would be 1.6 kW + 0.2 kW + 1.5 kW, which equals 3.3 kW.
Another example is a 10-ton single-girder crane, which might have two main trolley motors, each with a power of 1.5 kW, totaling 3 kW. It might be equipped with a dual-speed electric hoist with a trolley motor power of 0.8 kW and a hoisting motor power of 13 kW/1.5 kW. The total power of this crane would be 3 kW + 0.8 kW + 13 kW, which equals 16.8 kW. Note that the two hoisting motors in the dual-speed electric hoist do not operate simultaneously, so you do not need to add their power together.
