Grid power supply is the most common method, which transmits electricity from an external grid to the crane through cables. The grid power supply system is usually equipped with a transformer to reduce the high-voltage electricity to the operating voltage required by the crane, such as 380V three-phase electricity. In order to ensure the stability and safety of the power supply, this system also includes circuit breakers, contactors and other power conversion devices. These devices not only regulate the inflow of electricity, but also provide overload protection and short-circuit protection to prevent electrical faults from damaging the crane.

Another common power supply method is diesel generator crane power supply. This method is mainly used in places without a stable grid supply, such as construction sites or mining areas far away from cities. Diesel generators generate mechanical energy by burning diesel in an internal combustion engine, which is then converted into electricity. The generator converts this mechanical energy into electrical energy to power the crane. Diesel generators are usually equipped with a cooling system to prevent overheating, and are operated and monitored through a control panel to ensure their stable operation.

For some small portable cranes, battery power is a suitable option. The battery pack stores electrical energy and is managed by a battery management system (BMS). This system monitors the battery status, controls the charging and discharging process, and ensures the safety and long life of the battery. Battery-powered cranes are suitable for use in indoor environments or scenarios that require flexible movement, such as warehouses or manufacturing plants.

Different power supply methods are selected according to actual needs, which can adapt to different working environments while ensuring the efficient operation of the crane. Grid-powered cranes are suitable for areas with stable power supply, and large tower cranes often use this method on construction sites; diesel generators are an effective means to solve the problem of power shortage in remote areas; and battery power provides a solution for application scenarios that require flexibility and environmental protection. Each power supply method has its advantages and scope of application, providing strong support for the diversified application of cranes.
